Shooping
Göteborg is a good town for shopping. Walking is easy and you can find what you want within a fairly small radius. Göteborg has a diverse range of shops and goods and most of it is in the centre. Nordstan by Brunnsparken is where you will find the main shopping mall, housing a mixture of shops, along with holding various events
throughout the year. When walking along Fredsgatan you can find stores such as NK, Mango, the Stadium and fashionable Solo. Arkaden is a small cosy shopping area
where you can sit down for a cup of coffee or pick up cool and kitsch interior design stuff at Mique. Now stroll to Kungsgatan and enjoy its wide spectrum of multiple
and independent stores in its maze of side streets. On Södra Larmgatan you’ll find Stuk with the latest fashions in jeans. Vallgatan is home to Designtorget, the street fashion shop Global, Nygårdsanna, and the shoe shops Scoop and Fiorucci. The really good interior design shops, R.o.o.m and Norrgavel, are on
Magasinsgatan. ABCD on Västra Hamngatan is heaven for all those who love Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana etc. In the area around Linné there are a host of new designers with their own shops. if you like second hand, you should visit Myrorna on Järntorget or Bebop antiques on Kaponjärsgatan. On Andra Långgatan you can shop for retro items and furniture in the shop F, or browse among the comic-strip characters and collectors items in Udda ting.
Nk
The NK store is nothing less than a fashion institution. In Gallerian you’ll find brand outlets such as J Lindeberg, Kookaï and Max Mara along with other brands such as
Day, Marimekko and Mulberry together with furnishings and design. You’re sure to find what you want.

Nordstan
Nordstan is the largest indoor shopping mall in candinavia. It’s situated in the centre of Gothenburg and holds three
floors of shops. All the major chain stores such as H&M, Åhléns and Lindex are to be found here. There is a wide selection of interior decoration, toys, sports goods, electronics, music, restaurants and cafés. There’s something for everyone in Nordstan!

Arkaden
Arkaden is the place to be if you fancy stylish shopping and bold fashion. Under one roof you’ll find some thirty stores offering many of today’s hottest and coolest brands, such as Benetton, Björn Borg, Mango, MQ, Nilson, Peak Performance, D.O. and TopShop.

Kompassen
On Fredsgatan, in the heart of Gothenburg City, you can find 20 shops with a strong emphasis on young fashion. Come, feel and try out the latest trends in clothes, shoes, hair, games and much more besides. Strong international brands rub shoulders with local designers. Shops: Solo, JC, H&M, Gina Tricot, Jack & Jones, Sisters, Brothers, Carlings and more. If you want to relax for a while Condeco is just the place – have a cappuccino and watch the world go by.

  Airports
Göteborg has two airports: Landvetter International Airport and Gothenburg City Airport. Landvetter, which is situated 25
kilometres from the centre, is used for all domestic flights, and by most of the major airlines. Airport busses run every fifteen
minutes at peak hours to and from central Göteborg. They take about 30 minutes and cost 70 kronor. Taxis start at about 365
kronor and take at least 20 minutes. Göteborg City Airport is located about 15 kilometres from the centre and is mainly
trafficated by low-cost airlines. Buses depart from the Nils Ericson terminal every two hours and 20 minutes before every
departure. The bus trip takes 30 minutes and costs 50 kronor. The cost of a taxi is slightly cheaper than with Landvetter.
Local Traffic
Göteborg is characterized by its trams. When you have familiarised yourself with the lines it is a pleasant way of getting
around thanks to the view out of the window. On busses, ferries and trams within the municipality of Göteborg you have to stamp two coupons. Loose coupons cost 10 kronor each – so a journey costs 20 kronor. The Maxirabatt card gives you a 33 percent reduction. The card costs 100 kronor. The card is
available for purchase at Pressbyrån shops, and at Tidpunkten in the Central Station. Tidpunkten: +46 (0)771 41 43 00
Göteborg Central Station is located adjacent to Nils Ericssons Terminal which is the centre for national bus traffic. Swebus
and Säfflebuss also run from there and they operate several daily services from the larger Swedish towns and also Oslo and Copenhagen.

Taxi
There are plenty of low price taxis in Göteborg, however in the evening they are often fully booked and hard to order. The alternative is to flag down a taxi yourself.
Post
Stamps can be bought in kiosks and Pressbyrå shops and at the Post Centres that are to be found in some shops. Svensk kassaservice (Swedish cashier service) has various opening hours but the office in Nordstan is open Mon-Fri 10-19
and Sat 10-15.

Opening hours: Most shops are open Monday to Friday 10-19. Saturday 10-17, Sunday 12-16. Some shopping centres are open longer during holidays.
Newspapers: The major newspapers in Göteborg are Göteborgs-Posten, a morning paper, GT, Göteborgs Tidningen, an evening paper and Metro, a free paper which is distributed in the city. On Fridays, the newspapers have good guides on what is happening entertainments-wise. In addition there is the free
Nöjesguiden (Entertainments Guide), which comes out once a month.
