SALZBURG BARS & NIGHTLIFE
Salzburg has a surprisingly large selection of bars. Just as with the restaurants, the best experience is at one of the traditional bars. In other words, head for Salzburg’s wonderful beer gardens, the Biergarten. Try Augustiner Bräu (on Augustinergasse 4), whose beer is still brewed by monks, or the Stieglkeller (Festungsgasse 10), part of the Stiegl brewery, with postcard-perfect views. Republic This arty café turns in to a nightclub in the evenings. Located in a former cinema. Address: Anton Neumair Platz 2
Bazillus A
small, rough bar that attracts the trend-conscious.

Havana Same clientele as Bazillus, but the decor is nicer.

Chez Roland Roland’s place attracts Salzburg’s
upper-class youth, the Loden preppies. Address: Giselakai 15
Vis À Vis One of Salzburg’s most popular bars. The cave-like feel
makes it reminiscent of a 1960s nightclub. Address: Judengasse 13
Kasino For that "James Bond on a skiing holiday" feel,
visit the city’s casino in this castle-like building, situated in
the fashionable Schloss Klessheim neighbourhood. Entrance is free of charge,
but the dress code is very strict – men must wear a suit jacket and
tie. For beginners, there is a very amusing quick introduction to the most
