Linz is a very good place to go shopping as most of the shops are very centrally located which means that they easily can be reached by foot. Landstrasse and the streets around it, is where you will find the most exciting shops in town (www.linzer-city.at). It offers everything from small craftsman shops to big department stores.

Naturally, it is also here you will find the big designer brand names, the famous Austrian dresses, the jewellers, the accessories’ shops and so on. The area is packed with nice atmospheric cafés with makes it an even better shopping experience. However, if you prefer the big shopping centres, the ‘Passage’ centre (http://pcc.lvu.at/menu/1/2/0) in town centre is offering a very good selection of interesting shops. ‘Arcade’ (www.arcade.at) is another really good shopping centre which is also very centrally located. The ‘Atrium’ shopping centre is also in the City Centre and just like ‘Passage’ and ‘Atrium’ it offers a wide variety of shops with both international and local goods available. If you are keen to get a piece of the famous Linzer Torte (www.linz.at/english/tourism/default_10408.asp) home with you as a souvenir, the best place to go is the much esteemed Konditorie Philipp Wrann in Landstrasse 70 (www.wrann.konditorei.cc).
