Airport Innsbruck is served by one airport: Innsbruck Airport. The airport (www.innsbruck-airport.com) is 4km from the city centre and all international and domestic flights leave from/arrive here. Buses run from Maria Theresien Strasse to the airport (€1.80) every 15-20 mins. Taxis charge €8-10 for the trip.


 

Public transport Walk, bike or take a bus around Innsbruck. Public transport is not expensive - single tickets on buses and trams costing €1.60, while 24-hour tickets are €3.40. Weekly and monthly tickets are available for the sum of €10.70 and €36.20 respectively. Tickets bought in advance must be stamped in the machines at the start of your journey. The special bus line ‘TS’ (‘The Sightseer’) connects all the major sights in Innsbruck. Buy the Innsbruck Card as soon as you arrive. This allows you access to the town’s major sights and can be used on any means of public transport. Purchase a card (24 hrs: €23, 48 hrs: €28, 72 hrs: €33; and from May 1, 2007, 24hrs: €24, 48hrs: €29, 72 hrs: €34) from any tourist office.

Post The Main Post Office is at Maximilianstrasse 2 and is open 7am-11pm, Mon-Fri; 7am-9pm, Sat; and conveniently 8am-9pm, Sun. Another option is the Post Office at Brunecker Strasse 1-3 which is open open 7am-7pm, Mon-Fri; 8am-1pm, Sat. This branch is near to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station).
