Summer Schools in Turkey

When the school season ends, working mothers are in flutter to choose a summer school for their children. The following summer schools were published in daily Hürriyet newswaper. The list is in alphabetical order. Please check the Yellow Pages for the addresses. Bale-lin: Ballet and Dance Academy provides summer course on dance and performing arts for children over 3. The courses are organized in three terms dated June25-July 13, July 16 - August 6 and August 6 -24. Club Sporium: The summer school provides half-day programs for children aged 5-8 and full-day program for children aged 7-14. Coliseum: A full-day summer school for children aged 3-14. Sports, pool games, art lessons, movies and outdoor activities are among the facilities. Dates of terms: June 18-July 20 and July 23- August 24. Darüssafaka: Çetin Berkmen Sports Facilities provide half-day and full-day summer programs for children aged 3 and over. Darüssafaka provides sports such as tennis, basketball, swimming, and football, together with artistic, social and cultural activities. DuPont Bilim Merkezi: Science Center Summer School is organized by Türkiye Bilim Merkezleri Vakfi (Turkish Science Centers Foundation) and sponsored by DuPont. The courses are for children aged 7-13 and take place between June 18 and August 31 in three different terms. Ekol Drama Sanat Evi: The program of the summer school includes plays, creative drama, swimming and informative Istanbul tours. Ekol offers three terms between June 18 and August 31. Happy Kids Jale Tezer Summer School: The summer school takes place at Jale Tezer College, Ankara until September. The courses are organized for children aged 5-14 and in two, three and four-week periods. Sports, chess, table tennis, drama, painting, ceramic, music, excursions and picnics are among the activities. |
Isik Schools: Fevziye Mektepleri Foundation Isik Schools at Ayazaga Campus provide half-day and full-day summer school on basketball, swimming and tennis. The courses are in two terms in July and August. Laterna Magica: The workshops are for children aged 7 and over and organized in two groups: Indoor workshops and excursions. The children can participate the workshops on weekly, two-week-long or monthly basis. Plato Film School: Acting workshop is for children aged 4-15 and takes place between July 4 and September 5. Five weeks of this ten-week-long program is on theater and acting training will be realized in the remaining weeks. Play to Learn: English, painting, music, drama, ceramic and performing
arts, ballet, modern dance, kitchen activities, horseback riding, swimming,
water games and excursions for children aged 2-6. Swissôtel: Swissôtel offers a summer program composed of informative and amusing activities including swimming and tennis. Swiss Kids program is for children ages 6-9 (Sparrows) and aged 10-12 (Pigeons). Five-week long courses are organized in two terms. Tiny Tots: It is located in Izmir and provides play groups for children aged 1-3 with mothers, talent groups, hourly games and daily workshops for children aged 3-4 and musical drama, swimming, ceramic and manual skills programs for children aged 6 and over. Uzay Kampi (Space Camp) Izmir: The languages of this international summer camp are Turkish and English, and it is for children aged 9 to 16. The camps are fore two, five, six and ten days and focus on motivating youngsters to study science, math and in other technological fields. The environment also provides interactive space simulations. |
